In Progress — Target December 2026Senior Network & Security Engineer
Secure, resilient networks for healthcare and business — routing, firewalls, and wireless built to stay up.
01 — Profile
I'm a Senior Network & Security Engineer with an MSP in Orlando, Florida, supporting healthcare and healthcare-adjacent clients where downtime isn't an inconvenience — it's a patient-care problem.
My day-to-day runs the full stack of a production network: Cisco routing and switching, Fortinet firewalls, Ubiquiti UniFi wireless, and site-to-site VPN — plus the identity layer behind it, Microsoft 365 and Azure AD. I work in HIPAA-regulated environments, so change control, documentation, and clean closeouts are habits, not extras. Outside the MSP role, independent field work adds Palo Alto firewalls and BGP/OSPF setups.
Before the MSP, I did IT field support at Orlando Health and AdventHealth, which is where the healthcare focus started. I'm now finishing a B.S. Cloud and Network Engineering (Azure Track) at WGU while closing out my CCNA (exam targeted December 2026) and CompTIA Security+ (target January 2027) — because the goal is architecture-level work: designing networks, not just fixing them.
02 — Capabilities
Design, build, and troubleshoot — the capabilities I've developed across five years of enterprise and healthcare networking.
Designing and operating LAN/WAN infrastructure that converges predictably and fails gracefully — VLAN segmentation, routed access, and clean layer-2 hygiene.
Translating security requirements into firewall policy that actually holds up — least-privilege rules, segmented trust zones, and encrypted connectivity between sites and remote users.
Deploying and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi in clinics and offices — access point placement, controller management, and RF issues isolated with method, not guesswork.
The identity layer every network decision lands on — directory, access, and the Microsoft cloud stack that healthcare offices run on.
Hands-on delivery, not just remote config — rack builds, structured cabling, and on-site cutovers with photo-documented closeouts and test results on every job.
Systematic fault isolation — packet-level evidence over hunches — and scripting the repetitive work out of the day so the engineering gets the time.
03 — Credentials
Credentials in active pursuit, with exam dates on the calendar — plus the degree behind them.

Security operations, threat and vulnerability management, and risk — the credential that formalizes the security half of my current role.

EarnedWestern Governors University
Bachelor's degree in cloud and network engineering (Azure Track), started February 2025 — the academic track running parallel to the certifications.
In Progress — Expected 202704 — Experience
Five years across healthcare IT — from hospital field support to senior network and security engineering.
Advantage Technologies — Managed Service Provider
Senior engineer for an MSP serving healthcare and healthcare-adjacent clients. I own network and security work end to end: design input, implementation, troubleshooting, and the documentation the next engineer depends on.
Orlando Health
Level II support for workstations, network infrastructure, telecommunications, and clinical systems across hospital departments.
AdventHealth
On-site IT support at AdventHealth — the role where I learned how clinical environments actually run, and why network reliability in healthcare is a patient-safety issue, not an SLA metric.
Field Nation · WorkMarket
Evening and weekend field work across the Orlando metro — network installs and refreshes for retail, office, and clinic sites, run to the same standard as my day job: arrive early, test before leaving, close out with photos and results the same day.
05 — Selected Work
Sanitized, representative examples. No client names, addresses, or internal IP ranges.
Clinical, guest, and IoT traffic needed to stay separate, with secure connectivity to another site.
VLAN segmentation, firewall policy between zones, and an IPsec site-to-site VPN.
Clinical, guest, and IoT traffic isolated by zone policy, with a site-to-site tunnel between locations.
Fortinet FortiGate · VLANs · IPsec VPN
A site needed a compact, organized rack for switching, routing, and wireless management.
Built the rack around UniFi switching and a Dream Machine Pro, with Cat6 patch panels and structured cabling so connections can be traced port to port.
Every connection traces port to port; same build pattern used across 30+ UDM installs with VLAN and VPN setup.
UniFi Switch · Dream Machine Pro · Cat6 patch panels · Cradlepoint router
Server failure at a client site.
Dell OpenManage diagnosis, PERC adapter check, ruling out storage hardware faults, and enabling controller cache.
Service restored within the first hour onsite.
Dell OpenManage · PERC RAID controllers
Server and clinical data migration across 10 practices, including imaging data.
3-day plan: day 1 cutover and onboarding, day 2 testing, day 3 follow-up.
10 practices migrated with zero unplanned downtime.
VMware ESXi · Hyper-V
06 — On Site
Networks are physical. Racks, patching, and structured cabling from real installs. Client-identifying details are removed.
Enterprise rack row with CommScope patch panels, core switches, and structured blue cabling.
Compact rack with UniFi switches, Cat6 patch panels, and a Dream Machine Pro.
Patch panel into a UniFi Dream Machine Pro and switch, with a Cradlepoint router on top of the rack.
